It's Road Safety Awareness Week!

Road Safety is a global issue and one that affects us all in some way. Every 20 minutes someone is killed or seriously injured on UK roads (brake.org.uk) and with that in mind, it is more important than ever that we do everything we can to try and reduce this.

We all know that at this time of year, you need to take more care on the roads –particularly for those of you who work in construction, waste management, utility services or any other form of work that has you out on the roads. Accidents are likely to increase during the winter months for people working in these industries, and it is important to take the necessary precautions to ensure continued safety throughout the winter months. We have compiled a list of products that will help you stay safe when you’re out and about.

High Visibility Clothing

Darkness poses a greater danger than travelling in daylight and as a cyclist or pedestrian you can’t ever assume that a driver has seen you. By wearing high visibility clothing or carrying a torch at night you can minimise your risk of being missed. Salt

The use of salt on roads and pedestrian areas helps to improve surface friction and grip on icy surfaces and helps to reduce accidents as a result. We stock high quality pure white rock salt – unlike brown salt or sand, our salt doesn’t leave any marks or stains on the surfaces. This salt is suitable for car parks, pathways and other key areas. It comes in individual bags of 25kg or a full pallet containing 42 bags.

Traffic Management
